Here are Seven critical handfighting positions wrestlers get into – positions you MUST be able to dominate from to be an elite wrestler:
1. Opponent's head tie/your head tie setups
2. Opponent grabs wrist(s)
3. Opponent puts his hands on you
4. Controlling inside ties
5. Opponent gets 2 on 1
6. Opponent gets underhook
7. Over/Under position
Here's how you know you excel at the above 7 hand fights:
- You gain a scoring advantage every time your Opponent grabs your head
- You gain a scoring advantage every time your Opponent grabs your wrist(s)
- You gain a scoring advantage every time your Opponent puts his hands on you
- You gain a scoring advantage every time your Opponent gets a 2 on 1 (which is rare)
- You gain a scoring advantage every time your Opponent gets an underhook (or he never does)
- You gain a scoring advantage every time your Opponent gets a 2 on 1 (which is rare)
- You can control the inside tie anytime you want
If you struggle in any of these areas, you only have two choices:
1. Accept fewer wins throughout your wrestling career.
2. Join us at our upcoming training (some of the advanced concepts will be taught here).
The three key coaching points I said to Addison vs the #1 ranked wrestler:
“Get in his face and crowd him!"
“Put our patented move on him (taught in this Sunday's training) and Keep him in it!"
“Every time he gets to his over/under position or his underhook, work out of it like we trained to do"
